Coach Adam Black is the Head Coach of Women’s Volleyball and Beach Volleyball at Moorpark College, a position he has held since 2017. During his time at Moorpark, he has led the program to multiple indoor Western State Conference Championships and appearances in the 3C2A Beach Volleyball State Championships.
Prior to Moorpark, Adam led the Harvard-Westlake School volleyball program beginning in 2007, overseeing the boys’ and girls’ indoor programs as well as the girls’ beach program. Under his leadership, Harvard-Westlake captured the CIF Division IA Championship and CIF Division III State Title in 2007, returned to the CIF Finals in 2013, and successfully launched its beach volleyball program in 2012.
Adam’s collegiate coaching experience includes serving as an assistant coach for men’s volleyball at Pepperdine University during an NCAA Final Four season, as well as head and assistant coaching roles at Los Angeles Pierce College, where his teams were two-time State Championship runners-up. Throughout his career, Adam has helped develop numerous athletes who have gone on to compete at the NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA levels.
With over 25 years of coaching experience, Adam is passionate about developing young athletes and supporting them in their pursuit of athletic excellence, both on and off the sand and court. He is deeply grateful for the opportunity to grow the game of beach volleyball in the local community and to work alongside young athletes as they learn, compete, and develop a lifelong love for the sport.
